How underarm electrolysis works

The first underarm session takes from 30 minutes to 3 hours, depending on hair density. Each visit after that is shorter, and a typical visit during the course takes 30–60 minutes.

A course usually takes 1.5–2 years, with visits every 4–6 weeks. After waxing, sugaring or an epilator, hair can stay dormant for 3–6 months and only show up after a few sessions.

Between visits, shaving with a razor is the best option; don't remove hair from the root. For a few days after a session don't shave the area; trim with scissors if needed.

For 24–48 hours after a session avoid saunas, pools, intense workouts and products containing alcohol.

Frequently asked questions

How long is the first underarm session?

From 30 minutes to 3 hours, depending on how dense and coarse the hair is. Each session after that is shorter.

Can I shave my underarms during the course?

Yes, a razor is the best option between visits. Avoid waxing, sugaring, epilators and tweezers: they pull hair from the root and make the course longer. Don't shave the area for a few days after a session.

Does electrolysis help with ingrown hairs?

Yes. Permanently removed hair can't grow in, so razor irritation and dark dots under the skin go away too.

When can I go back to the gym or pool?

After 24–48 hours. Until then avoid intense workouts, saunas and pools.
