Electrolysis vs laser
Both methods reduce hair, but they work in completely different ways. Here are the key differences.
| Electrolysis | Laser | |
|---|---|---|
| Blonde, red, grey hair | Yes | No |
| Dark skin | Safe | Limited |
| Single hairs, shaping | Yes | Difficult |
| Type of result | Permanent removal | Long-term reduction |
| Large areas | Slower | Faster |
| How it feels | A short prick or warmth, intensity set to your sensitivity | Depends on the area and device |
| How price is set | By treatment time, not by area | Usually per area and session |
| Course length | Usually 1.5–2 years, 12–16 sessions | A series of sessions; hair may return over time |
Pain: what to expect
With electrolysis every hair is treated individually, and most people describe the feeling as a short prick or warmth. We set the current to your sensitivity, and for delicate areas you can bring your own numbing cream.
How much you feel also depends on the area, your cycle, tiredness and stress. If you're worried, start with a consultation that includes a 15-minute trial session.
Price: compare the whole course, not one visit
With electrolysis you pay for treatment time, from 80 zł for 10 minutes, and hour packages lower the hourly price. The first sessions are the longest; each one after that is shorter.
Laser usually reduces hair rather than removing it permanently, so when comparing costs, include possible sessions after the series ends. After electrolysis a destroyed follicle doesn't grow back.
When should you choose electrolysis?
When your hair is blonde, grey or red, when laser has stopped working, for hormonal facial hair, for shaping brows and the bikini line, and whenever you want a complete, permanent result.
Combining both methods
Often the best results come from a combination: laser reduces dense dark hair on large areas, while electrolysis removes the hair laser can't treat.
After laser: switching to electrolysis
It's a common reason people come to us. There's no way to predict when hair will grow back after laser, so an electrolysis course after laser can take 2.5 years or more.
